Chairman's New Year Message

"Dear Members and Readers

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Welcoming the onset of the 21st Century and the year 2001, may Waheguru Ji have mercy on all of us! There is a saying: 'bury your dead past'. If our past was good, then we should try to do better; but if it was bad then it is time to stop, look and go. A stationery state is not a progressing one. Even when a child goes to school in his primary years he sets his mind on reaching the top as a professional. Anyone who puts in hard work and effort will be rewarded, but being idle and lazy will ensure failing results.

No one wants to be poor, in pain, inefficient, sickly, retarded, dependable, unfortunate or unlucky. Just make God your friend and you will be free from these liabilities, problems and curses.

Once a Pathan had two sons and he named them Kutta (Dog) and Billa (Cat). Someone asked him why he as a father degraded his sons by naming them as a Dog and Cat. The Pathan replied, "If my sons are industrious and hardworking and on the righteous path then they will become Kutapdin and BulandKhan, otherwise being unprogressive they will remain as Kutta and Billa". As Gurbani says "Sachae Maarag Chaldean, Ustat Kareh Jahaan" - meaning: treading the righteous path, the world will praise you.

One very special message: in our past we may have cheated, lied to our parents, our life partners, our children, our brothers and sisters, our relatives, friends and many others. We may have also betrayed their trust and love. It is time we shake ourselves out of that mess just as dogs and other animals shake off water from their bodies. It is time to start a new life. We also want to be loved, respected and looked upon as good-natured and friendly people. This will happen when we cleanse ourselves of all sins, evil doings, hypocrisy and insincerity or double standards. As the saying goes, "Haati ke dandh khani lia aur, vekhanay lia aur" (meaning: like the teeth of an elephant - for showing it has a different set and for eating it has another set). The best way to get rid of this evil is to love God irrespective of any colour, creed and class. God is Love, God is Truth, God is Spiritual Health and Wealth. If you have time for God, He will have time to you. But if you don't have time for God no one will have time for you."
